Postojna Cave is a 24,340 m long karst cave system near Postojna, southwestern Slovenia. It is the second-longest cave system in the country, as well as one of its top tourist attractions. This stunningly delicate cave system was formed by the river Pivka over millions of years. Before 1818, visitors could visit a mere 300 metres of the cave, while today more than five kilometres of fascinating cave chambers, passageways and spectacular halls are all uncovered during an exhilarating hour-and-a-half long tour.
