“Osijek Blue”, a film for tourism by Danijel Dozet has been selected Best National Tourism Film in
2005 by an expert international panel of judges at the 8th World Festival of Tourism Films recently hosted
by the city of Split.
The competition was exceptionally fierce this time with a total of 167 filmmakers from 54 countries in
the running, which makes the success of the Osijek-based Ypsilon Osijek agency all the greater. Besides,
this is also the first recognition of this magnitude for a film for tourism shot in continental Croatia, more
specifically, in Slavonia.

The Lonjsko polje Nature Park, stretching along the Sava River in the Posavina region, is a true nature
reserve. It is, as a marshland area, counted among the most endangered habitats in the world and is the
largest protected wetland area, not only in Croatia, but also in the entire Danube river basin. There are as
many as five rivers in the area – the Sava, Una, Kupa, Lonja and Struga rivers, so that there are, within the parks boundaries, numerous protected marshland birds.
Over the past years Lonjsko polje has opened more and
more to tourists who can take in the natural phenomenon of the
park and the traditionally outfitted buildings and service.
